Certified Turkish translation for UK applications
Uğur Arı — sworn translator, Kartal 12th Notary Office · Updated October 10, 2026
For a family visa, GOV.UK asks for a certified translation of any document that is not in English or Welsh, and its certification guidance asks the translator to confirm in writing that it is a “true and accurate translation of the original document”, with the date and their full name and contact details. We prepare these translations online from Türkiye. The translator, Uğur Arı, is a sworn translator whose oath is recorded at the Kartal 12th Notary Office; he is not a member of ITI, CIOL or ATC. A standard single-page document costs £10 and an academic or official document £15, with a written quote before you pay. UKVI, HMPO and other UK bodies decide whether a document is accepted; we do not give immigration advice.
How much does certified Turkish to English translation cost?
| Document or package | Price |
|---|---|
| Standard single-page document, e.g. birth record, criminal record, passport, ID, residence record, driving licence | £10 |
| Academic or official document, e.g. diploma, transcript, student certificate, certificate, equivalence certificate, marriage certificate | £15 |
| Visa package — up to 5 documents (e.g. passport, ID, income document, bank statement, invitation) | £45 |
| Student package — up to 10 documents (e.g. diploma, transcript, equivalence, certificates, language certificate) | £80 |
| Long, dense or multi-page documents (court decisions, contracts, long records) | Written quote after review |
A Turkish marriage certificate translation is £15. Prices are per document or package, by document class and page — you are not charged per word or character. Send several documents together and you get one written quote.
We quote separately for documents that are long, densely written, handwritten, in poor condition or need special formatting, and for priority handling; you always get the price in writing before you pay.
Each price includes the English translation and the sworn translator’s statement of accuracy, signature and stamp. Notarisation, an apostille and courier delivery are priced separately, only if you need them.
Can a sworn translator based in Turkey prepare certified translations for a UK visa application?
GOV.UK’s certification guidance asks the translator to confirm in writing that it is a “true and accurate translation of the original document” and to give the date and their full name and contact details. For financial evidence in a family application, Appendix FM-SE paragraph 1(j) asks for a full, dated translation that can be independently verified, with confirmation of accuracy, the translator’s full name and signature, and contact details.
Our translations carry all of these. The GOV.UK pages linked here do not say that the translator must be based in the UK, so being in Türkiye is not in itself a bar in these rules; UKVI decides whether a document is accepted.
Two cases set extra conditions. For leave to remain and indefinite leave to remain applications made in the UK, paragraph 1(j) also asks for “certification by a qualified translator and details of the translator or translation company’s credentials” (the term is not defined). HMPO’s paper-application guidance asks for a translator who is a member of a recognised professional organisation.
About the translator: Uğur Arı is a sworn translator (yeminli mütercim); his oath is recorded at the Kartal 12th Notary Office in Istanbul. He is not a member of ITI, CIOL, ATC or another professional translators’ organisation. Notarisation in Türkiye is added only if you or the receiving body ask for it.

Formül B and name spelling
- Formül B — the multilingual Turkish marriage extract explains its standard wording in several languages, including English. The GOV.UK pages linked here do not say whether it is accepted without a translation; if you are unsure, include a certified translation. More on Formül A/B/C.
- Name spelling — Turkish records and a passport can spell the same name differently (ç, ğ, ı, ö, ş, ü; married surname). Send your passport page with the order: if we see different spellings across your documents we tell you before translating, and we do not change what the source document says.
Ordering and paying from the UK

Can a sworn translator based in Turkey prepare certified translations for a UK visa application?
Yes, for the translation requirements on the GOV.UK pages linked here. Each translation carries what GOV.UK’s certification guidance lists — a statement that it is a true and accurate translation of the original document, the date, and the translator’s full name and contact details — plus the translator’s signature, which Appendix FM-SE asks for on financial evidence. The GOV.UK pages linked on this page do not say the translator must be in the UK. For leave to remain or ILR applications made in the UK, financial evidence also needs certification by a “qualified translator” with credentials, and HMPO paper applications ask for membership of a professional organisation; our translator is not a member of ITI, CIOL or ATC. UKVI decides acceptance.
Is Formül B accepted without a translation?
The GOV.UK pages linked here do not say. If you are unsure, include a certified translation of Formül B.
Do you give immigration advice?
