Turkish document translation for Australian applications

Uğur Arı — sworn translator, Kartal 12th Notary Office · Updated October 10, 2026

Short answer

Turkish–English translations prepared in Türkiye for Australian visa and immigration applications, starting from AUD 30. For visa and citizenship applications, the Department of Home Affairs asks for an English translation of every document that is not in English and says: “Translators outside Australia do not have to be NAATI accredited.” Each of our translations includes what Home Affairs asks for: the translator’s full name, address and telephone number, and his qualifications and experience in the language, all in English. A standard single-page document is 30 AUD and an academic or official document 40 AUD.

How much does Turkish to English translation cost for Australia?

Document or packagePrice
Standard single-page document, e.g. birth record, criminal record, residence record, passport data page, ID card, driving licence30 AUD
Academic or official document, e.g. diploma, transcript, marriage certificate, certificate, equivalence certificate40 AUD
Visa or immigration package — up to 5 documents (e.g. passport, ID, birth record, marriage certificate, police certificate, bank statement)135 AUD
Student or academic package — up to 10 documents (e.g. diploma, transcript, equivalence certificate, certificates, language certificate)250 AUD

Prices are per document or package, by document class; you are not charged per word or character. The packages cover documents of the two classes above. Court decisions such as a divorce decree, and long, densely written, handwritten or multi-page documents, are not part of a package and are quoted after we see them. Send several documents together and you get one written quote before you pay.

Each price includes the English translation, a statement that it is a true and accurate translation, the translator’s full name, address, telephone number, qualifications and experience in English, the date, signature and stamp, and PDF delivery.

Prices reflect the translation service and documentation prepared for the stated application context. Additional notarisation, affidavits, apostilles or delivery are quoted separately when required.

What Home Affairs asks for

Home Affairs’ document guidance, its citizenship page and the partner visa (subclass 820) page use essentially the same rule:

  • Provide the original document and the English translation.
  • “In Australia, use a translator accredited by the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI). Translators outside Australia do not have to be NAATI accredited.”
  • For every translation, include the translator’s full name, address and telephone number, and qualifications and experience in the language they are translating — all in English.

The Australian Embassy in Türkiye adds for visa applications: “the translation does not have to be certified, however it does need to be accurate.” The Home Affairs pages cited above do not mention notarisation or an apostille for translations.

What our translation includes

  • A complete English translation of the Turkish document, including stamps and notes.
  • A statement that it is a true and accurate translation of the original document, with the date.
  • The translator’s full name, address and telephone number, and his qualifications and experience: sworn translator, oath recorded at the Kartal 12th Notary Office in Istanbul; bachelor’s degree in translation and interpreting; 15 years of translation experience.
  • Signature and stamp; a PDF for upload to ImmiAccount (scan your original in colour, as Home Affairs asks).

Notarisation in Türkiye is added only if you or the receiving body ask for it.

Other bodies with their own translator rules

Some bodies set their own translator rules; for these, use a NAATI or approved translator:

  • Translations made in Australia for Home Affairs.
  • Driver licence transfers in NSW: Transport for NSW accepts translations only from Multicultural NSW, the Department of Home Affairs and two named consular offices.
  • Health practitioner registration: Ahpra asks for a translator who belongs to an organisation approved in the country where the translation is made.
  • Universities and courts set their own rules; for example, some universities ask for a NAATI “Professional Translator”.
