A Turkish criminal record (adli sicil belgesi — also called a police clearance certificate or criminal record check), obtained via e-Devlet or the courthouse, is translated into English by a sworn translator and notarized if required. If you have no criminal record, e-Devlet can issue the certificate directly in English, so a translation may not be needed at all; some institutions accept that barcoded version, others still ask for a sworn translation of the Turkish original. Does a Turkish criminal record need an apostille for USCIS?
For USCIS purposes, apostille is required on the original Turkish document — not on the translation. USCIS only requires a certified English translation with the translator's signed declaration. If USCIS asks for the original as well, the apostille would go on the original. Confirm with your immigration attorney.
Which USCIS petitions require a criminal record translation?
