What "sworn" means
In Turkey, a yeminli mütercim (sworn translator) is a professional who has taken a formal oath before a notary public and is registered with a notary office. This registration is listed on the translator's certificate. Every translation produced carries:

- ·A signed declaration that the translation is accurate and complete
- ·The date of the translation
Whether this certification is sufficient, or notarisation or an apostille is also required, depends on the receiving embassy, authority or institution.
